ALTNordic

May 28, 2018

It was today announced that LegalWorks Nordic AB, Laissa Oy, IBF Legal AS and Experticon ApS have formalized a Nordic alliance.

The firms have a history of collaboration, but now decided to create a formal alliance. One of the main purposes of the collaboration is to be able to serve clients on a pan-Nordic basis, but also to support existing clients in all four Nordic countries. The Nordic legal services will be offered under a common brand name, Alliance of Law & Technology in the Nordics or, in short,  ALTNordic.

“Being part of ALTNordic means that we can offer our clients an outsourced legal department service on a pan-Nordic basis, says Jon Iversen, the former GC of Copenhagen Airports and founder of Experticon.

“This is a good option for large global companies seeking a legal support solution for their Nordic businesses. One single point of contact and seamless services across the Nordics” continues Ulf Lindén, who founded LegalWorks Nordic with Leif Frykman, both with long-term experience from senior in-house positions in large global companies like GE, Sun Microsystems and WMware.

All of the founding firms share the common views on legal support having the business objective of the client in focus and have been founded by lawyers with solid in-house experience.  The founder of IBF Legal, Joakim Bakke-Nielsen, has a background with both KLP Insurance and Statoil. Jorma Vartia, the founder of Laissa OY, was the former VP Legal at Nokia.

“The common in-house approach is our key differentiator, but we also have a strong joint interest in the digitalization of the legal industry” says Jorma Vartia of Laissa Oy, the NewLaw firm based in Helsinki.

“High quality legal expertise combined with digital delivery is the future of legal services and the collaboration is an enabler to develop new offerings and platforms” says Joakim Bakke-Nielsen, who recently founded IBF Legal and IBF Digital.
